Not much is known about her earlier life. Somewhere along the years, she met and married Mr. Tanen. Due to his lethargic sperm, they couldn't conceive on their own. One of her husband's clients was pregnant but didn't want the child, so the couple decided to adopt the baby and raise her in Scarsdale, NY.
