Daniel Eric Gold (born September 19, 1975) is an American actor who portrayed Matt Hartley on Season 3 and Season 4 of Ugly Betty.

Early Life[]
Gold was born in Los Angeles, California, and is the son of Benjamin K. Gold, a biochemist, and Susan E. Gold, an artist and calligrapher. His father was an American of European Jewish descent, and his mother is English. Gold's parents met while working together in Los Angeles. Gold grew up in Los Angeles, and New York's Long Island and Rockland County. He attended Lee Strasberg's Theater Institute as a teenager, and went on to graduate from Penn State in 1996, with a degree in Theater Arts.
